The model was built by WO1(RSM) George Joiner while he was hospitalized in England after being wounded. The model is of a Canadian manufactured Ram I tank. Ram tanks were used as training AFVs by armoured regiments in the UK. Shermans would then be issued to those regiments who were identified for service in either the Mediterranean or NW Europe.
