Ross House at 188 Stewart St. Ottawa is described as a Tuscan-style house constructed in 1869 for Col Thomas Ross.
In June, 1872, he raised the Governor-General’s Foot Guards, of which regiment he was then commanding officer, with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.
It is situated between Nelson Street and Friel Street. It is a multi-unit residential building. It was converted from a single family home to apartments in the 1940s. As of early 2026, it houses several apartment units, including professional services. Photo dated 1975. Colourized by AI.
