The Governor General’s Foot Guards Museum honors the distinguished service of the GGFG through the preservation and storytelling of regimental history.
Founded in 1950, the Governor General’s Foot Guards Regimental Museum is managed by a small team of volunteers, with guidance from the Regimental Association’s Museum Committee. We are a CAF Museum under the Directorate of History and Heritage (DHH). We are supported by DHH and generous donations from visitors and supporters to preserve and share the GGFG’s remarkable legacy. The museum is a proud member of both the Organization of Military Museums of Canada (OMMC) and the Canadian Heritage Information Network (CHIN).
Our Mission
The mission of the Governor General’s Foot Guards Regimental Museum is to collect, preserve, study and exhibit those objects that will serve to illustrate the history and traditions of the Regiment.
The Regiment Motto

Behind the Exhibits
Our curators work tirelessly to create meaningful, informative, and engaging exhibits. Each display is thoughtfully assembled to highlight the human stories, artifacts, and moments that have shaped the GGFG’s legacy. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or returning with new questions, we strive to make every experience memorable and insightful.
